Job description:

Looking for highly motivated, tech-savvy and intrapreneurial Customer Technical Managers (CTM) who can help scale electrification business opportunities at strategic customers/start-ups in California (and other states). CTMs will support Divergent Mobility Group (DMG) customers for S&A, ET and T&I Business Units/Areas.

Highly skilled CTM will be part of a high visibility team that will be on the front-end of innovation and will collaborate with a variety of stake-holders (external & internal), on a myriad of technical fields such as electrification, fuel cell technology, autonomous driving, and much more!

Job Duties:

  • Initiate, establish and maintain all Powertrain Electrification related engagements with key West Coast customers. Candidate will manage a wide range of activities with customers, including leading and supporting pre-acquisition, quotation, serial development/production and advanced development phases.
  • Lead technical discussions at customers on various broad focus areas, viz. Thermal Management, HV Electric Drives, Battery Systems, Power Electronics, etc.
  • Recognize technical trends of customer at an early stage and integrate them into internal product development process. Promote internal solutions at an early stage to the customer, in order to ensure Win-Win results.
  • Strongly and clearly communicate technical content to all level of organization, both to internal and external stakeholders. Frequent communication to Executive leaders expected.
  • Work closely with various Product Development and R&D teams in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, China, etc. to ensure customer milestones and requirements are satisfied.
  • Scan for new Innovations and Technology trends that fit to Vitesco’s long-term roadmap – viz. Autonomous Vehicles, Fleet Applications, Last Mile Mobility, Drones, etc.
  • Provide onsite support to customers for technical troubleshooting of products, including Software Updates, Failure Analysis, Retrofitting, etc.

Job Requirements:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical field (e.g. BSE Electrical Engineering / BSE Mechanical Engineering), with 5+ years of work experience.
  • Demonstratable professional experience in leading technical teams and/or projects.
  • Must demonstrate technical knowledge and be comfortable in handling a broad variety of products: Thermal Management Products, Electro-mechanical Actuators, Sensors, E-Drives, High Voltage Electronics, Battery Systems, etc.
  • Candidate should have a basic understanding of costing and pricing models, especially in the acquisition or offering phase.
  • Communication: high level skillset required. Must be able to clearly communicate technical requirements, designs and related implications to both internal and external stakeholders, at an executive level.
  • Market: must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the status and trends of the automotive electrification market.
  • Self-starter: Individual must be capable of working individually and taking initiative, without the need of close supervision on day-to-day activities.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s or an Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Flexibility: Individual needs to have a flexible mindset and be capable of thriving in a start-up environment. Ideal candidate has preferably atleast 2 years of experience working with California start-ups.

Travel Requirements:

Yes, requires (10 – 25) % US travel for team meetings, trainings, customer visits and tech scouting. Occasional international travel required for team meetings and launch support.
