Lead, support and execute risk programs such as Issues Management, Third Party Risk Management, Internal/External Loss Events, Model Risk Management, or Policy Governance for the Retail and Small Business Banking organization.

Lead and facilitate risk programs independently, while consistently executing in accordance with Truist’s Risk Management Framework. Provide support for a robust, high-quality issues management oversight program in adherence with enterprise standards. Offer consultative risk guidance to business unit and other partners and ensure effective and efficient program execution. Understand Retail and Small Business Banking’s strategic plan, key objectives and risk appetite statement to effectively monitor key indicators. Partner with BURM Leadership in the aggregation, escalation and presentation of risk reporting, including the coordination and support for Risk Committees, Risk working groups, regulatory updates and other special assessments and reporting as directed by Business Unit Risk Manager. Advocate Truist’s risk culture throughout Retail and Small Business Banking. Promote an internal control culture that encourages self- identification and management of risks. Lead, establish, and maintain sound risk management practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

5-6 years working in first line or second line risk with experience with risk and control execution programs
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and related training
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of management
Strong knowledge and leadership skills and the ability to own projects and drive process change
Ability to manage implementation of risk program requirements over multiple LOBs
Independent thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to make decisions
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership experience MBA or advanced degree
3+ years of Risk experience
Operational and regulatory knowledge of financial institutions; retail banking preferred
