Lonergan is going add to our SOW budget and in addition he is going to add budget for 3 more C++ Developers for his team in FCAT. Previously we worked via FTS now we are direct with him and Anish. Key points here, they DO NOT need Fintech experience. He wants strong C++ developers with AWS/Kubernetes that are willing to learn the Fintech piece. He will train them up on that aspect of things. They are moving lightning fast on the Kafka role as we already have an interview this afternoon going off. I am including a code challenge that they will need every candidate to prepare and be ready to discuss the who what where why in the interview and defend their answer to the challenge. This role MUST be part of the Hybrid program in Boston, NY, JC and be willing to come onsite for 3 days a month. There will be 1 2hr panel interview with the team. This definitely changes the game with this BU as we are positioned to completely side step FTS and we have very solid rates!
Code challenge to complete: prior to interview for discussion. When screening candidates use this a point of your discussion and screening. Ask them if this is something they would be able to do and see what they say. This is a tough challenge and will tell us a lot about each candidate.
Design a multi-threaded queue where readers and writers can run at the same time without any locks semaphores or critical sections. The reader and the writer must be completely non-blocking and be able to read and write at the same time.
Senior Software Engineer – FCAT (Green Meadows)
Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) has the mission to catalyze innovation for Fidelity and our clients and supports the entire Fidelity businesses. Within FCAT there is a group developing a brand-new brokerage trading platform called Green Meadows.
We currently have a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers, researchers, designers, product managers, and security and compliance experts building this new exciting platform.
This role is critical to executing and building out the important trading sub-system functionality.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- Expert experience developing software in C++
- Experience with electronic trading platforms in a Linux environment
- Knowledge and/or experience with Q/KX Kdb
- Knowledge and/or experience with the FIX protocol is a huge plus
- Any experience with Order Management Systems (OMS) also a huge plus
