Desired Skills and Experience *
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
A minimum or ten (10) years of related experience in an equivalent role (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing benefit and leave programs
Advanced proficiency in working with benefits administration vendors and platforms
Proficiency in working with HRIS and payroll systems
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Effective communication skills, with an emphasis on tone and tact
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent management skills, vendor management skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills, with an ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations

The Benefits Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s benefits and leave programs. This position supervises a coordinator in managing benefit and leave programs and collaborating with our vendor-partners. This role will focus primarily on health and welfare benefit programs, and secondarily on our 401(k) program.
Partner with team members and benefits broker to create benefit and leave policies and plans to attract, empower, and retain company workforce
Partner with Total Rewards team members and benefits broker to create annual benefits and leave proposal and annual open enrollment plan review and approval
Ensure benefit and leave programs, policies and documentations are aligned with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as with Supernal’s total rewards philosophy
Benchmark and research innovative and creative benefits programs and policies
Track benefit cost expenditures for compliance with budget; provides necessary reporting
Ensure all benefit enrollment information provided to vendors and employees is accurate
Assist with presenting the benefits session of new hire orientations
Respond to benefit and leave inquiries from managers and employees
Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork
Effectively interpret FMLA & ADA implications relating to leaves of absences/disabilities
Respond to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees
Manage the annual 401(k) enrollment and compliance processes
Support preparation and coordination of 401(k) Committee quarterly meetings
Ensure all benefits-related forms and returns are timely prepared and filed
Other duties as assigned
