Job Title: Building Management / Automation Systems (BMS) Manager

Job Summary: EMCOR Group has an opening for an on-site BMS Manager. The work location for this position is in Los Angeles County. The BMS Manager effectively develops and implements programs, practices, and procedures to ensure the BMS is operating optimally and meeting all specifications / requirements. The BMS Manager is responsible for the maintenance and preventive maintenance of the site wide BMS, including but not limited to the system hardware, software, and security problem tickets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • BMS Manager is responsible for monitoring and performing diagnostic troubleshooting of program issues associated with Niagara N4, Triduim, or Siemens, Staefa Systems
  • Ensures the technicians perform day-to-day troubleshooting of system disturbances and corrections of BMS related trouble calls and
  • Collaborates with the Maintenance Manager and HVAC crafts to solve HVAC/Mechanical issues utilizing BMS.
  • Ensures the technicians perform day-to-day troubleshooting of system disturbances and corrections of BMS related trouble calls and alarms.
  • Runs weekly BMS reports to ensure system configurations are meeting contract requirements and fulfill all requirements of operational plans and procedures.
  • Reviews and signs-off on BMS project acceptance, testing, and project close out documents.
  • Ensures all BMS preventive maintenance was completed on-time and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Assures that all BMS upgrades / repairs are properly implemented and documented.
  • Ensures that all console alarms are acknowledged and addresses in accordance with contract requirements
  • Responsible for and facilitates weekly BMS meeting
  • Identify and report out deficiencies or anomalies noted within the BMS system
  • Maintains effective communications with the Management Team and customers
  • Runs BMS reports when requested and makes system configurations when requested
  • Responsible for the completion of all BMS assigned root cause failure analysis tasks and corrective actions
  • Work with the procurement and supply group to specify, provide vendor quotes, and information for material and components requested
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging BMS technologies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, and or Similar Technology degree such as Building / Process Automation – Preferred but not required.
  • The BMS Manager must have hands-on energy management controls systems experience which includes performing troubleshooting and repairs
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Engineer, or Supervisor / Manager within a BMS / BAS Environment preferably with 5 or more years’ experience with Niagara N4, Distech, and BacNet.
  • Certifications: Niagara N4, TCP and Distech 6002 are required
  • Must have the ability to resolve complex BMS issues that require analysis, evaluation and interpretation
  • Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical systems operation
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment, and tools to operate and maintain the systems
  • Must have knowledge of computer office operations and work order applications, such as Maximo and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good customer service skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, be organized, detail oriented, dependable, and a team player
  • Flexibility to work alternate schedules as necessary
  • Ability to read and write in the English Language
  • Valid CA driver’s license

Compensation Range: $120,000 – $140,000
