Clayton Services is searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a thriving company in West Houston. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for working on all aspects of mechanical systems related to gasification systems.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $100,000-120,000/year + bonus

Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, and more.

Required Experience: Experience working on downstream projects

Mechanical Design Engineer Engineer Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering support on mechanical equipment.
• Supports new product improvements and innovations.
• Prepare company standards and mechanical specifications.
• Develop and review: mechanical datasheets, vendor bidding and selection, and detail drawings.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
• Supporting the growth of the company’s intellectual property portfolio related to its technology.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Mechanical Design Engineer Skills and Abilities:

• Experience in the design of complex mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as API, PIP, and ASME.
• Excellent computer skills, with experience in CAD, and MATLAB programs.
• Knowledge of analysis modeling tools such as FEA and CFD.
• Previous EPC industry experience and/or fabrication is desired.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.

Mechanical Design Engineer Education and Experience:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Years of experience ranging from 1-5 years
• Previous EPC experience working on downstream projects
