PURPOSE OF POSITION

Manages and implements the organization’s Asset Management plan, principles, processes, policies, and standards.

Participates in the development and implementation of procedures for maintaining Configuration Management

Database (CMDB). Tracks and controls all of the IT infrastructure assets and configuration items in the Agency and

ensures that the processes carried out in Asset Management are in compliance with the policies of the company.

Works under general direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS

Strong working knowledge and experience with ServiceNow Asset Management, CMDB & Integration.

Manages the activity of tracking and tagging IT hardware assets with a unique identifier and ensures that all assets are

accurately accounted for in the asset database.

Knowledge of AWS integration for asset inventory

Tracks software assets, such as license keys, version, and renewal information. Recovers licenses/keys of customers

departing VNSNY.

Manages customer inventory (including laptops, tablets, software applications, servers etc.) for in-office needs.

Performs periodic audits of assets to guarantee that all records are complete and up to date.

Manages and follows up on the return of assets for terminated staff.

Establishes and interacts with key process applications, including Change Management, Asset Management, and

Service Catalog. Formulates and implements processes and procedures for tracking and analyzing configuration items

(CI) from requisition through retirement.

Assists the Configuration Owner in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of IT Configuration

Management policies and procedures.

Develops and maintains detailed technical and process documentation. Works with peer teams to develop and deliver

training & support materials. Identifies opportunities to better govern Service Management processes through

configuration data and reporting.

Partners closely with stakeholders within and outside of VNS Health, external vendors, consultants and peers at other

institutions to document business requirements/process and build solutions.

Identifies, controls, records, reports, audits and verifies services and other configuration items (CIs), including versions,

baselines, constituent components, their attributes and relationships.

Supports the overall application configuration management implementation and policies and monitors the daily

activities related to discovery, reconciliation, and uploading of the application IT configuration items across the

enterprise. Decompose services, renders models of them in the CMDB, and validates against discovery.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in IT Business, Computer Science, Finance or similar degree or equivalent work

experience required. Advanced degree in related field preferred. I.T.I.L. certification preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in: inventory movement, reconciliation, lifecycle, and spares control,

application inventory and versioning control required. Ability to direct and manage Asset Management Database (DB)

required. Experience with Asset management applications and systems integration, including Altiris, MS Intune,

System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or the Asset Management tool of Service Now required. Familiar with

various models of laptops, tablets, and desktops Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (strong experience with Excel)

required. Proficient verbal and written communication skills required
